  • Details of your out-of-network coverage

  • If your child's specific diagnostic and treatment codes will be eligible for reimbursement

  • is a there lifetime or per-calendar year limit on coverage for services or specific diagnoses

You are responsible for letting your therapist know the specific documentation that is required.

Our services are available to children who are experiencing challenges in speech, language, social pragmatic skills, and/or feeding/swallowing difficulties.

Speak-2-Me offers both consultations and evaluations.

Consultations gather relevant information regarding your child, including any previous evaluations or assessments. Initial consultations are assessments based on parent meeting, informal observations and clinical opinion, and serve to determine whether further testing and formal evaluation is deemed necessary at that time. In the event that a child has already been through the evaluation process and diagnosed, the consultation serves to determine the best approach to meet the communication needs of your child, and to create an appropriate treatment plan. Upon conclusion of the consult, recommendations are provided, along with verbal discussion, family training and/or counseling.

A consultation is recommended if you are interested in enrolling your child at Speak-2-Me and they have been recently evaluated.

Comprehensive evaluations are conducted when a child has not yet been diagnosed or treated. Evaluations use a combination of standardized testing, parent/caregiver interviews, and informal observation. The process begins with the completion of an intake form, which helps the therapist select appropriate testing materials and provides background information on the child in need of services. The evaluation is then conducted most frequently in the client’s home, but may also take place in the office or school setting. Assessment results will include a verbal discussion along with a written repot highlighting recommendations such as whether therapy is warranted, frequency and length of treatment sessions, and a treatment plan outlining specific goals tailored to the needs of the child.

Speech and/or Language therapy is provided to children ranging from ages 18 months through adolescents, and serves to build speech and language skills through various programs and techniques, homework activities and family education. Therapy can be provided in the home, daycare, or school setting with sessions typically 45 minutes in length, but may be shorter for younger children. To ensure the highest quality of therapy, services are provided on an individual basis and are always accompanied by home practice programs to allow for optimal carry-over and integration of skills learned in each session. Speak-2-Me is devoted to helping children achieve their ultimate goal of effective communication.

Speak-2-Me uses, but is not limited to, techniques and approaches such as:  PROMPT, Talk Tools/Rosenfield-Johnson Oral PlacementTherapy (OPT), DIR/Floortime and Myofunctional therapy.

Speak-2-Me offers one-to-one parent training for parents who:

  • Want extra help and guidance building and developing their child’s speech, language, feeding capabilities

  • Have children with a lot on their plate and want to learn techniques to work with their child on speech/language goals without child having to attend therapy sessions (this is for children with very mild speech/language issues as deemed by therapist during an initial consult or evaluation)
